Pupil Premium Information

For specified children such as Looked After Children, Previously Looked After Children, Children in Care and children eligible for Free School Meals, the school is allocated additional funding to support general educational provision. This is called Pupil Premium and Pupil Premium Plus.

Pupil Premium 2019-2020

Total funding: £7,580

Expenditure: £7,632

How we spent the money

We spent the money providing additional teaching support, focussing on in-class small group tuition, to promote the extended learning of these children. We also focussed on developing self-regulation, effective feedback and peer tutoring strategies.  We also provided some one-to-one Emotional Literacy Support Assistant support where needed too.

Evaluation of impact

All the children in this cohort achieved at least expected progress with some achieving above expected progress from their previous year's teacher assessments in core subject areas.  The cohort mostly achieved above expected or expected attainment this year.  As there were only a small amount of children eligible for the funding, due to data protection, this detailed information is not published.

Pupil Premium 2020-2021

Total funding: £7,725

Expected expenditure: £7,725

Main barriers to educational achievement

Last year, the majority of our pupil premium children were successful academically.  Therefore our focus this year will be to identify what they know and what they need to know following national lockdown, to address any areas of need and extend their learning further still from their starting points.

How will we spend the money?

This year we intend to spend the money providing additional teaching support, focussing on in-class small group tutoring, to promote the extended learning of these children.  We will also continue to focus on developing self-regulation, effective feedback and peer tutoring strategies which have worked well previously.  There will also be further one-to-one or small group Emotional Literacy Support Assistant support where necessary.

How will we measure the impact?

We will do this by using and monitoring the school's established Assessment Markbooks throughout the year, regular Raising Attainment and Progress meetings with staff, and start and end of year summative assessments.

Review

This will be reviewed by teachers and the Headteacher throughout the year and summarised at the end of the academic year in July 2021.
